You’ll see exactly how it looks before it goes live.

We walk through your site together, phone and desktop side by side, and I don’t launch until you’ve seen every screen and you’re happy with it.

What I build

Everything your site needs to bring in customers, from one studio.

  • Custom Website Design & Development

Original sites built from scratch. No templates, no page builders. Design and clean hand-coded development as one piece of work.

  • Local SEO & Google Business Profile

  • Copywriting & Brand Voice

Words that sound like you and move people to act, written around what makes the business specific.

  • Lead Generation & Conversion

Clear paths from visitor to inquiry. Forms and calls to action designed to turn visitors into real conversations.

  • Website Migration & Redesign

Outgrown a template or stuck on a platform you don’t own? I rebuild and migrate cleanly, keeping your rankings intact.

The Storefront Project

Showing local businesses what’s possible online.

I pick local spots around here and build them a concept website on my own dime, just to show what a real one could do for them. It’s a finished starting point. If it’s your business, step in at a reduced rate and take it further, and anyone can nominate a place they love. It’s the simplest way to see how I work.

Jarred O'Brien, founder of Studio O'Brien, Shelby NC

A real track record, now pointed at local business.

I’m Jarred, founder of Studio O’Brien. I’ve built and shipped websites for clients across the country and inside agencies, and I brought that experience home to Shelby to help local owners get found. Everything is designed and coded by the same person who answers your calls. No account managers, no offshore handoff, no agency markup.

You can see how I work in the concept sites I build for restaurants, shops, and trades around Cleveland County. The promise is simple: original work, honest communication, and a site you fully own when it’s done.

What to know before you start.

The questions owners ask me most, answered straight. No fine print.

How much does a custom website cost?

Every project is scoped to what the site actually needs to do, so there’s no fixed package price. Most custom sites start in the low four figures and scale with page count, copywriting, and functionality.

Want a number now? Get an instant, no-email ballpark with the website cost calculator.

How long does a website take to build?

Most sites go from kickoff to launch in about three to six weeks. The biggest variable is how ready your content is: copy and photos. I help with both, so a slow start doesn’t stall the build.

Do you only work with businesses in Shelby?

No. I’m based in Shelby and know Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Rutherford, and Catawba counties well, but I work with independent businesses anywhere in the Carolinas and beyond. The work travels; the local roots are a bonus, not a limit.

Who owns the website when it’s finished?

You do, completely. Full source code and ownership transfer to you at launch. No proprietary builder lock-in, no platform you have to keep renting to stay online.

Do you help with Google and getting found locally?

Yes. On-page SEO and Google Business Profile setup are built into the work, especially for local businesses. Showing up when someone in your town searches for what you do is the whole point of the site.

What if I don’t have a website or any content yet?

That’s common, and it’s fine. I help with structure, copywriting, and photo direction from scratch. Businesses with nothing online yet are exactly who the Storefront Project is built for.

Who should I hire to build a website in Shelby, NC?

Look for someone local who handles the website and the Google Business Profile together, because for most small businesses the map listing brings more calls than the site does. Ask who owns the finished site, whether local search setup is included, and to see work in your industry.

Studio O’Brien is based in Shelby and does both as one job. There are other good local options, so get more than one quote and compare what is actually included.

What should a small restaurant’s website include?

Menu that opens fast on a phone and is real text rather than a PDF. Hours, address and a tap to call, all visible without scrolling. Directions that open in maps. Online ordering or reservations if you use them.

Photos of the actual food and room. A way for you to change prices and specials yourself without calling anyone. Most restaurant traffic is someone nearby deciding where to eat in the next twenty minutes, so speed matters more than anything clever.

How do I get my restaurant to show up on Google Maps in Shelby?

Claim or create your Google Business Profile first. It is free and Google never charges to be listed. Then verify it, set the correct primary category, and fill in hours, holiday hours, phone, menu link and website. Add real photos of the food, the room and the outside.

Keep your name, address and phone identical everywhere else online. Ask for reviews and answer them. Proximity to the searcher is the one thing you cannot change, so the work goes into everything else.

Is it worth paying someone to manage a Google Business Profile?

Not always. If your hours are steady and you can spend half an hour a week on photos and reviews, do it yourself. It is worth paying when reviews need consistent answers, when the listing has duplicates or a wrong pin, when categories and menu links keep drifting, or when you want it tied to the website and local search rather than handled separately.

Be careful of anyone charging a monthly fee to post occasionally, or promising a number one ranking. Nobody can promise that.

Has Studio O’Brien built websites for real clients?

The work shown on this site is concept builds. They are designed and paid for by the studio to show what a finished site looks like, and they are not commissioned client projects. That distinction is about the local studio being new, not about a thin resume.

Jarred has been freelancing for over nine years, building websites, web apps, marketing and graphics packages, and search visibility work for clients around the world, including real estate agents competing on Google. On Upwork he holds Top Rated status with a 4.9 star rating and over one hundred thousand dollars earned, both public on the platform and easier to check than to describe.

What is new is Studio O’Brien itself. There is no delivered Cleveland County client yet, so nothing here is dressed up as one, and the Storefront Project spots are open. Anything presented as a local client result would be made up, so it is not here.
